Fall 2010 Haiti Servant Event

In response to Haiti’s critical need to care for its orphans, a servant event team from Martin Luther Chapel returned to Port-au-Prince October 9-16, 2010.  Martin Luther Chapel has previously sent three teams, including this past March following the earthquake, to help build a large orphanage outside Haiti’s capital city. This orphanage, dedicated and ready for occupancy only a week before the earthquake, was not destroyed but sustained enough damage to load-bearing walls and security perimeter walls to prevent children from living there. When the repairs are done, about 80 children without parents will call this place home.

Haiti in October - Application and Release of Liability

Martin Luther Chapel is excited to confirm that an October 2010 Haiti mission trip, which is open to residents and students, will take place.  We share this development with you in the event (and hope) you might prayerfully consider participating.

Pastor Louis

A few days after returning from Haiti, the group received troubling news. Pastor Louis with whom the group had closely worked, was killed on March 12. Please keep his family and the church in Haiti in your prayers.

More information on Pastor Louis is available online at the LCMS Reporter website (http://www.lcms.org/pages/rpag...).
